Humanizing Gay Rights

This T-shirt is to be worn by anyone willing to make a stand for equal rights. It is not merely a T-shirt, but a living art installation that promotes equal rights for LBGT community; rights equal to those enjoyed by most citizens of this country, not “special rights.” Ralph G. Brancaccio is asking you to participate in this living installation. Brancaccio who created the concept is asking you to wear it in hopes that this T-shirt, worn by you, or someone you know, will help break down barriers to equal rights for gay, lesbian and transgender citizens and normalize the still-stigmatized and highly charged issue.

Gay people are a part of everybody’s world: a part of our family or friendship circle, the workplace, entertainment, news media, sports arena, government, school, church, etc. This living installation accounts for gays, lesbians and people of transgender in our everyday environment and to reveal their ordinariness. Wearing this T-shirt will mean that you are taking a stand against discrimination and prejudice and for equal rights for homosexuals and the normal, unadulterated dignity of all our country’s citizens. So, wear this T-shirt, not to proclaim sexuality but to help tear down the barriers that deny human beings that are lesbians, bisexuals, gays, and people of transgender an equal and ordinary place at society’s table.

Profits from T-shirt sales will be used in a publicity campaign in states that are trying to turn our constitution against the LBGT community.
